Artifact: EDU 255 Basic's of Effective Instruction in P.E., Lab D Lesson Plan
Date: Spring 2012
Reflection: Lab D in my EDU 255 class was my last chance of the semester to go out and teach to my peers. I was assigned to teach table tennis and the skill I chose was how to put side-spin on the table tennis ball. The cues were slice, strike, and follow-through. The use of verbal or visual cues are important because it gives students something to relate to as they are participating in the activity. While demonstrating during my lesson I broke down the skill into slow motion so the students could understand the proper technique. I feel it is very important to give very clear demonstrations and explanations that way when students go do the activity there is not as much confusion and the class can run smoother and be more effective. This artifact shows how I can learn a skill and them turn around and demonstrate it along create cues so my students can learn the proper ways to succeed at the skill.
