Element 1.3
Describe and apply motor development theory and principles related to skillful movement, physical activity, and fitness.
Artifact: PED 201 Motor Development Lab
Date: Fall 2011
Reflection: For PED 201 Motor Development Lab #3, I had to observe locomotor skills the students were performing. Leaping, jumping, and sliding were the three skills that I observed and assessed. By watching their performance, it allowed me to apply principles to see where the students are in their development. This artifact is important to my development as a teacher because it is important that I understand how to breakdown, demonstrate, and analyze the key elements of motor patterns. This ability allows me to provide my students with specific feedback to help them improve.
