Artifact: EXS 397 Ventilatory Function Lab
Date: Spring 2013
Reflection: In this Exercise Physiology lab, I learned about breathing, hyperventilation, and parts of the lungs. The purpose of the lab was to familiarize students with assessments and terminology associated with the human ventilatory system. This artifact goes with this element because in the lab I learned about how breathing can be affect under different circumstances. As a physical educator, it is important to understand the human ventilatory system because you have to be able to keep an eye out for students that are struggling to breathe during activities so you know when to stop the activity or have them take a few minutes to relax and recover.
